The Opportunity: We are looking for self-starting and technically proficient Forward-Deployed AI Engineers to be at the forefront of AI adoption in local businesses. Key Responsibilities:
Client Needs Assessment & Solution Design:
Engage directly with local businesses (e.g., retail, manufacturing, services, healthcare, logistics) to identify pain points and opportunities where AI solutions can provide significant value.
Conduct thorough technical assessments of existing infrastructure and data environments.
Design and propose tailored AI solutions, leveraging off-the-shelf AI tools, custom models, or platform integrations (e.g., predictive analytics, automation, natural language processing, computer vision, Generative AI applications).
Translate complex AI concepts into understandable business value for non-technical stakeholders.
AI Tool Deployment & Integration (MLOps Focus):
Lead the hands-on deployment, configuration, and integration of AI tools and models into clients' existing systems. This includes implementing robust MLOps practices for CI/CD, experiment tracking, model versioning, and monitoring.
Work with various cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or on-premise environments as required, leveraging cloud-native AI services.
Develop necessary APIs, data pipelines, and integration scripts to ensure seamless and scalable operation.
Ensure robust security, data privacy, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, local regulations) are met during deployment.
Proof-of-Concept & Pilot Project Management:
Develop and execute proof-of-concept projects to demonstrate the viability and value of proposed AI solutions.
Manage pilot deployments, including defining success metrics, monitoring performance, and gathering client feedback.
Training & Knowledge Transfer:
Provide comprehensive training to local business teams on how to effectively use and manage the deployed AI tools and understand AI model explainability (XAI).
Create clear documentation, user guides, and best practices.
Act as a technical point of contact, offering ongoing support and troubleshooting for deployed solutions.
Performance Monitoring & Optimization:
Monitor the performance of deployed AI solutions, ensuring they meet defined objectives, deliver expected outcomes, and address data/model drift.
Iteratively optimise models and configurations based on real-world data and client feedback.
Identify opportunities for further AI enhancements or new solution deployments.
Technical Sales Support & Relationship Building:
Collaborate with sales and business development teams to articulate technical capabilities and value propositions to prospective clients.
Build strong, trusted relationships with local business owners and technical teams.

Required Qualifications:
Deep AI/ML Expertise: 3+ years of hands-on experience in machine learning engineering, data science, or AI solution deployment.
Technical Proficiency:
Strong programming skills in Python (preferred), Java, or similar, with extensive experience in relevant AI/ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
Expertise with various AI models and techniques (e.g., NLP, computer vision, predictive modelling, Generative AI).
Proficiency in data manipulation, database management (SQL, NoSQL, Vector Databases), and building robust data pipelines.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), including their AI/ML services (e.g., SageMaker, Azure ML, Vertex AI) and MLOps capabilities.
Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for scalable deployment.
MLOps & Production Readiness: Proven experience with MLOps practices, CI/CD pipelines for ML, model monitoring, and versioning.
Deployment & Integration Experience: Proven track record of successfully deploying and integrating AI models/tools into production environments, ideally for diverse clients.
Client-Facing & Communication Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences, gather requirements effectively, and manage client expectations.
Problem-Solving & Autonomy: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently to drive projects to completion.
Business Acumen: Understanding of how AI can drive business value and an ability to align technical solutions with business objectives in various industries.
Local Market Awareness: Willingness to travel locally for client meetings and on-site deployments as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, or a related technical field.
Experience working with small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) or in a consulting capacity.
Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS ML Speciality, Azure AI Engineer).
Experience with Responsible AI (RAI) principles and implementation.
