The Coral Room is a 1920s, Art Deco-inspired salon bar in the heart of The Bloomsbury Hotel – the creation of sought-after Swedish interiors guru, Martin Brudnizki. All glittering chandeliers, gilted gold and waiters in dickie bows, it’s got a refined, timeless elegance usually associated with another era.

The Bloombury Hotel is tucked away on Great Russell Street, right around the corner from Tottenham Court Road tube (Central and Northern lines) in London’s glittering West End.
When to go…
Weekdays are a mixed bag of business lunches and those taking afternoon tea, with evenings given over to theatre-goers grabbing a quick bite and city workers sipping on after-work cocktails. Weekends, meanwhile, welcome glamorous brunch crowds, and live music’s occasionally on the cards come nightfall.
What’s on the menu…
Choices aren’t exhaustive and they’ve been carefully selected. Light bites are inventive and just the right size (we’d recommend the manchego cheese and truffle honey on toasted sourdough) and the lunchtime sandwiches are fluffy and delicious. Sweet tooth? The dessert menu ticks off indulgent treats like meringue and chocolate eclairs.
The cocktail list deserves special mention. All the classics are present and correct, as well as beguiling combinations with names like ‘Bonita in the City’ and ‘Midtown Swizzle’. And if you’re in the final throes of Dry January, there’s a fantastic selection of alcohol-free tipples. Salut!
