The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented
Platform Technical Requirements & Development Manager to lead the definition, planning, and execution of WorkTravel.Agency's core platform. You will translate business strategy and user needs into concrete technical requirements, oversee the development lifecycle, and ensure our platform is robust, scalable, and intuitive for both engineers and clients. This role is critical for laying the technical foundation that drives our global operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Strategy & Roadmap:
Define and manage the technical roadmap for WorkTravel.Agency platform, aligning with overall business objectives and user needs (engineers, clients, internal teams).
Translate high-level product vision into actionable technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Collaborate with the AI Toolchain & Technology Ecosystem Mapping Manager to integrate approved technologies and best practices into the platform design.
Requirements Management:
Gather and prioritise technical requirements from various stakeholders, including product management, recruitment, learning & development, and operations.
Ensure requirements are clear, concise, testable, and adhere to security and scalability standards.
Development Leadership & Oversight:
Lead and mentor a team of engineers (internal or external) through the full software development lifecycle.
Oversee architectural design, coding standards, code reviews, testing strategies, and deployment processes.
Ensure the platform is built with scalability, security, performance, and maintainability in mind, capable of supporting global operations.
Integration Management:
Manage integrations with external services such as LinkedIn API for profile data, payment gateways, communication tools, and our AI-powered matching engines.
Ensure seamless data flow and user experience across integrated components.
Performance & Security:
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for platform health, performance, and uptime.
Implement and enforce robust security measures, data privacy protocols (e.g., GDPR, CCPA compliant), and disaster recovery plans.
Collaboration & Communication:
Act as the primary technical liaison between development, product, and other operational teams.
Communicate complex technical decisions and progress to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
Provide technical guidance to the Recruitment & Onboarding Strategy team for engineer-facing platform features.
Required Qualifications:
Software Development Leadership: 7+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3-4 years in a leadership role managing technical teams and projects.
Platform Development Experience: Proven track record of successfully designing, building, and launching complex web-based platforms, ideally in the recruitment, marketplace, or ed-tech space.
Technical Expertise:
Strong understanding of modern web technologies, cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP), and API design.
Proficiency in relevant programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Python/Django/Flask, Node.js/React, Go, Java).
Experience with database design (SQL, NoSQL), data warehousing, and scalable data solutions.
Familiarity with MLOps principles and integrating AI/ML services into platforms is highly desirable.
Requirements & Project Management: Expertise in agile methodologies, requirements gathering, backlog management, and project tracking.
Scalability & Security Mindset: Deep understanding of building scalable, secure, and resilient systems.
Strong Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience with AI-driven matching algorithms or recommendation systems.
Experience working in a fast-paced startup or a globally distributed team.
Certification in relevant cloud platforms or project management (e.g., PMP, CSM).
